But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Jude:1:20

*Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord* Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Jude:1:21

Brethren as we can see there is a need for as as believers to keep ourselves in the love of God as we are looking for the mercy of christ unto eternal life

How can we keep ourselves in the love of God?

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

John:15:10

By keeping the commandments of God we keep ourselves in the love of God

As we keep these commandments of God and always be praying in the holy ghost we hide our lives in the love of God

Keeping his commands means keeping away from sin and any iniquity that can defile our lives and disturb our relationship with God

As we do that our faith in Christ is the most holy one because we are not contaminated.

Christ doesn't just want as to have faith( salvation) that is contaminated with sins and the stain of the lust flesh.

But he wants us to have pure faith that is mixed with cleanliness of heart to remain in his love, otherwise we can no longer abide in his love once we priotise prayers, fasting, giving and all other things but fail to keep his commands

Loving God means being obedient to his commands and that's the only thing that keeps us as believers in the love of God as we wait for his mercies of salvation upon his coming.

We should keep our garments clean from the stains of the world. We can't be with the clean God while dirty that's why we must observe cleanliness of heart, speech, mind to continue being with him otherwise we can't.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John:14:23

So as we can see, we can't expect love from God if we have not first taken a step to love him, and the only way to love him is to keep his words and then we shall experience the goodness of God and his love flowing into us to eternal life.

Failing which no matter how we prayer or do anything to please God but we forget to keep his words, we will not remain in his love because the bond of love btwn man and God is established in obedience to his word by man.

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John:14:21

So we see here that we can't claim to

 love God and forsake his commandment

Many are the people who are praying, preaching , ministering, prophecing on their own , they don't have heaven mandate because they got out of his love for their disobedience to his word.

And such thinks they are pleasing God but alas, they are not because the love of God is not with them.

We must trigger the love of God by first holding on onto his commandment, loving him and we shall enter into his eternal love unto eternal life.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John:14:23

We must love him because he first loved us by dying on the cross for us and loving God means keeping his commands: loving the expression of his image which is a fellow man, and turn away from every iniquity.

Loving christ will trigger the love of God on us and then at the end we shall be found fulfilling  Jude 1:20-21 that we are building ourselves on the most holy faith (because we are orbseving  his commands) and we shall remain in his love which shall trigger the mercies of our God unto eternal life!
